Where Life Happens Gently: Inside a Tranquil Swedish Family Home - Home Design Ideas

Gambar
Welcome to Home Design Ideas . Today we will share for you about Where Life Happens Gently: Inside a Tranquil Swedish Family Home. Some days call for a sense of calm—and that’s exactly what you’ll find in the family home of @emiliaolssons . This Swedish villa is awash in soothing tones and furnished in a pared-back style, where every piece adds quiet interest. All around, glimpses of family life unfold, framed by lush greenery. Keep an eye out for the cosy touches kept within reach: a chaise longue perfect for sinking into with a good book, and a basket of blankets tucked under the stairs, ready for chillier days. All in all, a charming family home where life happens—but calm is always just around the corner. I have to say, I've been writing this post in the car, under a little duress as we are on our way to watch some tennis in Båstad fun - even so, this has offered me just the level of calm I needed!  I love the snoozing family dog on the stairs, the childre...

Inside a Boho Loft Apartment in a Converted Stockholm Church - Home Design Ideas

Gambar
Welcome to Home Design Ideas . Today we will share for you about Inside a Boho Loft Apartment in a Converted Stockholm Church. I have got very carried away with sharing idyllic Scandinavian escapes lately (can you guess my mind is very much in holiday mode?), so today, I thought I’d share something a little different—less fjords and coastal cabins, more lofty ceilings and leafy houseplants. Yep, we’re staying in Sweden, but this time it’s all about urban charm in the capital city! This characterful home is actually tucked inside what used to be a church – and now sits high above the streets of southern Stockholm. From the outside, you’d never guess there's a plant-filled, bohemian sanctuary hidden under those eaves. Inside, it’s a relaxed world of boho charm: there are sky-high ceilings, exposed beams that give it a rustic touch, and natural light pouring in from every angle. The layout is open and airy, with a lovely flow between the kitchen and living space, plus a balcony ...

Escape to a Cosy Swedish Summer Cottage in the Heart of the Countryside - Home Design Ideas

Gambar
Welcome to Home Design Ideas . Today we will share for you about Escape to a Cosy Swedish Summer Cottage in the Heart of the Countryside. We’re up at our little cabin now, enjoying a slower pace – long lunches, a bike ride to tennis, then a swim. It’s the kind of holiday I look forward to all year. Sweden is at its summer best: lush forests, wildflowers everywhere, warm days with a gentle breeze, and beach picnics with friends – plus a bit of chaos too when it comes to grocery runs and washing dishes! But even that has its charm. Yesterday at the local supermarket, a whole family walked in wearing dressing gowns – just back from a swim! That’s Swedish summer for you – easy-going, blissfully relaxed, and delightfully unbothered. If you’re tempted to try it yourself, there are plenty of beautiful cottages on Airbnb that offer just that feeling. One I love is this cosy red stuga in Gränby , near the lovely town of Vadstena. Set among open fields, it’s simple but special – with a s...

Exploring Hallands Väderö: Sweden’s Wild and Peaceful Island - Home Design Ideas

Gambar
Welcome to Home Design Ideas . Today we will share for you about Exploring Hallands Väderö: Sweden’s Wild and Peaceful Island. Sponsored post, all words are my own, and I only ever work with brands I love and think you will too.  Do you have a favourite island? That’s the question Skandinavisk asked in celebration of their ØY fragrance – a collection with notes of water mosses, dog rose, crabapple and green leaves, inspired by the solitude and raw beauty of the Nordic islands (keep a lookout for the discount code at the end of this post).  There’s something magical about the word island, isn't there? It conjures images of wind-blown shores, untouched nature, and life lived at a slower pace. Coming from a sailing family, I’ve been lucky to explore many islands – which isn’t hard when you live in Sweden, the country with more islands than anywhere else in the world (true story!). But my heart always returns to one close to home. Just a kilometre off the coast of Tore...
